This may well change in the future as the travel industry, in general, catches up with the increasing demand from single travellers. How can you cruise solo?
If you’re travelling on your own, you typically have a few options:
Book your own cabin (solo use): Some cruise lines allow you to book a cabin for yourself, often with a solo supplement—an added charge to offset the empty berth. However, more lines now offer discounted or waived solo supplements.
Opt for a shared cabin: If you're open to sharing, some cruise lines offer twin cabins with a same-gender roommate. In this instance you can book at the twin person price in the acknowledgment that you may end up sharing with someone of the same gender. However if no other person books then you end up with the cabin on your own with no extra to pay! It is a bit of a gamble but we think around 50% of the time our passengers end up not sharing.
