Data Protection and Privacy

We take the protection of your data (and ours) very seriously.

Management of personal information is taken seriously by Expedition Partners and all information collected is handled according to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as directed under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Personal information, such as passport details, (unless required to be maintained for regulatory purposes) is periodically deleted. This is why we often have to ask for personal information when a booking is made, even for regular customers.

Access to all our systems is restricted to MFA (multi-factor authentication). This is enforced.

Personal information, such as passport details, (unless required to be maintained for regulatory purposes) is periodically deleted. This is why we often have to ask for personal information when a booking is made, even for regular customers.

All contracts with third party providers require the same privacy procedures to be followed. We may decline to provide some information requested by third parties that we deem unnecessary for the purposes of the booking e.g. passport information for domestic trips.

We are alert to the dangers of “e-mail intercept fraud” and encourage our clients to call us prior to making payments to verbally confirm our banking details. We will never advise a change to our bank details by e-mail.

No credit card details are kept by Expedition Partners. All credit card transactions are completed via the secure portal of our merchant, Travelpay (Zenith Payments). Click here for the security and compliance statement of Zenith payments

Our e-mail service for marketing is Mailchimp. This is the world’s largest e-mail service for businesses and organizations based in the US. Mailchimp has rigorous security protocols to safeguard data in accordance with US and EU regulations. 2FA access is mandated and only key staff members at Expedition Partners have access to this e-mail database.

Expedition Partners does not share e-mail addresses with any other organisation unless genuinely required for the purposes of a travel reservation.

Our itineraries and final documents are provided by a service called Travefy. Here are their Security protocols Note that only itinerary information is kept in Travefy – no personal information beyond traveller’s names.

We have an ongoing contract with a cyber security company and our staff receive periodic training on cyber threats and best practice.

If you have any questions or concerns about our commitment to data security then please reach out and speak to me. I am very focused on this issue and extremely careful with my own data security and will be more than happy to assuage any concerns you may have.
