Roads and Railways (Seasonal):

Your Red Centre adventure begins the moment you step off The Ghan at Alice Springs Rail Terminal. Greeted by the warm and welcoming Outback Spirit team, you’re in expert hands for the next eight days of discovery through the heart of Australia.

Kick things off with a guided tour of Alice Springs, including a relaxed lunch at a local eatery, offering a taste of the town’s vibrant culture. Then it’s time to check in at the DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs, your home for the next two nights. Settle in, freshen up, and later that evening, join fellow travellers for welcome drinks, a short tour briefing, and a delicious dinner at the hotel.

Alice Springs to Kings Canyon

This morning, we farewell Alice Springs and journey deeper into the Red Centre. First, a stop at Ellery Creek Big Hole for morning tea, followed by the towering cliffs of Ormiston Gorge. After lunch, the scenic drive continues along the rugged Mereenie Loop 4WD track, delivering us to Kings Canyon Resort, nestled on the edge of Watarrka National Park.

Tonight’s dinner is at Carmichael’s Restaurant, where local wildlife – perhaps even a dingo – might wander by.

Kings Canyon Rim Walk & Cultural Connections

Rise early for the Kings Canyon Rim Walk – a breathtaking 6km circuit offering sweeping views and the chance to explore the hidden oasis of the Garden of Eden. Prefer a gentler pace? Take the creek bed walk at the canyon floor instead.

After lunch and a rest, enjoy a fascinating Aboriginal cultural experience with Karrke Tours, learning about bush medicine, tucker, and ancient traditions. Optional: take a helicopter flight over the canyon for an unforgettable perspective.

As the sun sets, sip drinks and enjoy canapés at the immersive Light-Towers art installation by Bruce Munro, before dinner at the newly renovated Kings Canyon Bar & Grill.

Today, you make your way to Uluru, stopping at Curtin Springs Station for lunch en route. In the afternoon; check in to the luxurious Sails in the Desert, part of the Ayers Rock Resort.

Tonight, you will attend the awe-inspiring Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner, where choreographed drones, lasers, and storytelling illuminate the night sky. Sip cocktails, dine on native-infused cuisine, and witness the ancient Mala story come to life in a one-of-a-kind setting.
