Enjoy modern Australian cuisine freshly prepared by the onboard chef, showcasing fresh, local produce and, when available, seafood caught during your cruise.
Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice, and special cakes or meals can also be arranged for celebrations.
MV Great Escape is an unlicensed vessel and operates on a BYO alcohol basis.
Guests are welcome to arrange their preferred alcoholic beverages prior to departure, with orders required to be delivered to Great Escape ahead of the cruise.
Alternatively, alcohol can be pre-ordered through a local Broome bottle shop for your journey.
Dress Code
The dress code aboard MV Great Escape is casual and relaxed. Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended for the tropical climate, with shorts, lightweight shirts and UV-protective fishing shirts ideal during the day. Long-sleeved shirts and lightweight pants can also provide additional protection from the sun.
During July and August, early morning temperatures can be cooler, so we recommend packing a light jumper or jacket for excursions and helicopter transfers. An iron is also available onboard for guest use.
Footwear
Guests are encouraged to go barefoot while onboard MV Great Escape. For excursions, we recommend comfortable reef or water shoes with good grip that can get wet, particularly when transferring from expedition vessels to shore and walking over rocks. This style of footwear is generally more practical than hiking boots or sneakers.
MV Great Escape is equipped with satellite communications, providing Wi-Fi access while cruising in remote areas.
Guests are encouraged to use apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger or Viber for calls and messages.
A satellite telephone is also available for emergencies.
Due to the remote locations visited and the nature of satellite connections, internet access may occasionally be limited or unavailable.
A strict 10kg luggage allowance per person applies to selected Kimberley cruise itineraries that include transfers by light aircraft or helicopter. Guests are encouraged to pack lightly using one soft-sided bag and ensure all luggage is clearly labelled.
For port-to-port Kimberley cruises between Broome and Wyndham, or in reverse, luggage restrictions do not apply.
If you are travelling with additional luggage as part of an extended holiday, storage can be arranged for the duration of your cruise. A complimentary laundry service is also available onboard, making it easier to pack light.
Please advise us of any injuries, mobility requirements or accessibility needs prior to departure.
Due to the design and operational requirements of MV Great Escape, wheelchair access is extremely limited and guests may require significant physical assistance when moving around or boarding the vessel.
Transfer options vary depending on your itinerary in most destinations. Please ask us for specific details. 1300 654 861 or contact@expeditionpartners.com.au
