The most beautiful building in the world

Yes it's a tourist cliche but in this instance the hype is totally justified.

The Taj Mahal, perhaps the most famous building on earth, is breathtaking. Famously built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife in 1632 this is a genuine ‘bucket list’ inclusion.

Even the most seasoned traveller will get a shiver of excitement upon the first glimpse its glistening white marble.

(And almost, as magical is the sales skills of the local photographers who can coax even the most reluctant visitor to pose on the famous “Diana’ chair.)

To say the latest India can be a challenge for visitors. Even experienced travellers can struggle at times here. But it has to be done.

Here is a link to just one possible itinerary for a private rail journey through the highlights of India. There are several other options.

I have been to India many times – if you are interested in an informal discussion about India as a destination then just hit reply with your thoughts and we can talk soon.
