Our cruise from Broome to Darwin followed by the Ghan rail journey to Adelaide was wonderful and well above expectation. The Coral Geographer ship was just amazing, having the very latest technology available in cruise shipping. The crew, the staff and the excursions were the best imaginable. We had a lovely cabin with a small amount of private deck space where we could sit out and watch sun sets and rises. Broome and Darwin were also interesting and we were pleased with the few free days in both places giving time to visit museums and other points of interest. The best thing about the Ghan were the excursions, all very interesting indeed although the management, the food and the staff again, couldn’t be faulted.
From our initial booking through Expedition Partners (formerly Flower Travel) this experience has been outstanding. Taking The Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin was superb, our three days in Kakadu with Outback Spirit simply stunning and our Ponant Kimberley cruise from Darwin to Broome exceptional. Highlights would include our sunrise at Marla in the desert (The Ghan), the Mt. Gillen helicopter flight over Alice Springs (The Ghan), followed by ancient rock art, the East Alligator River Cruise and a scenic flight over Kakadu (Outback Spirit). Our Ponant cruise highlights would be Ashmore Reef, King George Falls, Horizontal Waterfall, Helicopter flight to Mitchell Falls and all the amazing Western Australia sunsets! This trip exceeded all expectations.

It was great! The train was fun. We felt like we were experiencing a classic journey. We really enjoyed it! Sadly, we realised that sleeping on the train is not something we can do, so no more overnight train trips for us! Outback Spirit was wonderful! We liked the driver and his wife, the excursions, really all of it was great! We were the only Americans on our tour, which is always fun for us! After this trip we feel that we have a much deeper understanding of your country's history and culture. We love Australia's cities, but seeing the centre is a completely different experience. We're so glad we did this! Thank you so much for helping us with this trip!
